Due to the rapid surge in COVID cases over the last month, the Laclede County Health Department has had to return to full-blown pandemic response mode. That’s the same level of response they were providing during the height of the pandemic. With the vaccine readily available to those 12 and older, and with most infections now totally preventable, Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says it’s extremely frustrating to be back at this type of a response level………..

Baker says a high number of residents getting vaccinated is what it will take to finally put this pandemic behind us………

Baker urges unvaccinated residents to realize we are still in the middle of a pandemic, and to act accordingly. Do not attend large gatherings if you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID. The majority of cases now are the DELTA variant, which is 60 percent more transmissible than other variants.
