With a pandemic raging in every corner of the country, the Thanksgiving holiday could lead to a massive surge in COVID cases if people do not take serious precautions during this time of the year. Many hospitals across the country are already near their breaking point when it comes to treating people who have contracted the virus. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says they are pleading with the public to keep their Thanksgiving gatherings as small as possible………….

Baker also asks residents not to travel and attend family gatherings if they have any symptoms of the virus……..

Baker says the health department does see the light at the end of the tunnel with the development of several effective vaccines, but now is not the time for county residents to let their guard down.
