Laclede County Fair Hog Fetches $71,000 At Market Animal Sale
For the second year in a row, bidding at the Market Animal Sale at the Laclede County Fair broke a record:
That’s Tyler Knight with Knight Auction Service. In an intense bidding war during the sale, one hog brought over $71,000 during the sale. Auctioneer Jeff Knight says it was a good night for the kids.
Knight said that Kennett Lucas owned the high-dollar hog and why the hog brought so much money.
A total of 138 steers, sheep, and hogs were sold at last night’s (Thursday) sale. Before the auction, longtime fair stewards Lester Evans, Bill Hash, and Craig Evans were honored for serving the Laclede County Fair for many years. All were awarded plaques and will have their names enshrined in the Legacy Center at the Laclede County Fairgrounds.
