When officers arrived they found 45 year old Jeffrey Reid asleep with the vehicle running and the car in drive. Reid was given a field sobriety test and then was taken into custody after which he was able to get a hand free, and grabbed a syringe from his car seat, smashed it and threw it toward a nearby field. The syringe was recovered and tested positive as containing methamphetamine. Several more syringes were seized. Reid was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, with a hearing date set for July 17th in Laclede County Court.
