Laclede County children raise money for Community Cares during KJEL Radiothon

The Community Cares Radiothon is underway on KJEL Radio today, (9/14/23) in an effort to raise thousands of dollars needed to support Laclede County non-profit agencies. The annual event allows donors to drive through and drop off their last minute donations, or in some cases groups have turned the fundraising into a competition. More than $136 was raised by the winning 3rd grade class at Maplecrest. Students from several school buildings across Laclede County participated in raising funds for Community Cares, and the Joel E Barber School was presented with trophies for being the top fundraising school

Joel E Barber students raised $3615. 68 for Community Cares. Donors in Laclede County, both children and adults, help the Lebanon Area Foundation Community Cares Program grant funds to support non-profit agencies who provide the basic needs of the community like food, clothing, medications, and shelter. The KJEL Community Cares Radiothon continues until 5pm at the Cowan Civic Center and on KJEL 103.7fm Lebanon. As of 11am donors have given over $9,209.59 to Community Cares.
