Laclede County 4-H recently recognized some essential ‘Friends of 4-H’ at their annual Recognition Night celebration. Among those identified is Sara Johnson, long-time project leader and club leader of Barn Bums, who was chosen for her dedication to the club and Robotics and Health & Fitness projects.
Long-time parent volunteer Dana Phillips was also recognized as a “Friend of 4-H. Dana has served on the County 4-H Council for many years, is currently serving as the council treasurer, and is a volunteer for the Country Kids 4-H Horse Club. In addition, Russ & Karla Phelps were honored as ‘Friends of 4-H’ for their continued support of 4-Hers and other young people in their livestock ventures and their dedication to the Laclede County ‘Share the Fair’ program. ‘Share the Fair’ is a local group that raises money to purchase animals from the kids at the fair and then donates the meat to local food pantries.
