The Joel E. Barber Board of Education recently approved a second tuition payment to Lebanon R-3 School District for the education of high school students who live in the Barber School District. Each year the district pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to Lebanon and Conway Schools. According to Superintendent Rachelle Jennings, this latest payment was the second for the school year..

After amending the current budget to actuals, Jennings said the school district is in the black. For the coming school year, Jennings said they are dealing with some unknowns due to Covid-19, but they have put around $17-thousand in the budget for disposable plates and eating utensils just in case they have to feed the students in the classrooms.
At this time, Joel E. Barber School students will return to a 4 day week of regular in-person learning.
