MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL TUESDAY-

CARDINALS 2 MIAMI 1

Paul Goldschmidt smacked a walkoff solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Cardinals past the Marlins on KJEL….

Goldschmidt also hit an RBI-single in the sixth to tie the game for the Redbirds, who have won consecutive games for the first time since a four-game winning streak May 26th through the 29th.

Alex Reyes came away with the win. Yimi Garcia gave up the bomb to Goldschmidt to suffer his fifth loss for Miami. Adam Duvall drove in the lone run for the Fish, who have lost three in-a-row. The Cards go for the sweep this afternoon at 12:15..Pre-game comes your way at 11:20 on Regional Radio…

DETROIT 4 ROYALS 3

Jonathan Schoop [[ scope ]] and Miguel Cabrera helped the Tigers start strong in their victory at Kauffman Stadium. Cabrera had an RBI single in the first inning and Schoop followed that up with a two-run bomb in the third. Casey Mize earned the win after giving up just three runs in six-and-two-thirds innings. Mike Minor took the loss after permitting four runs in five-and-two-thirds innings. Whit Merrifield and Nicky Lopez each had two hits for Kansas City, which has lost five straight. Lopez says as a group, they may be trying to do too much.

The Royals are 30-36 with ten losses in the last eleven outings, and will try to avoid the 3-game sweep behind Brady Singer as they play the Tigers again this afternoon at 1:10…
