Nolan Arenado and Matt Carpenter both hit two-run home runs in the third to help the Redbirds blow out the Nationals at Busch Stadium. Paul Goldschmidt went deep in the first for his 250th career circuit clout, and he and Justin Williams both drove in three runs apiece. Carpenter said providing protection to the lineups big guns is always a priority.
