Tyler O’Neill hit a go-ahead RBI-double in the eighth inning as the Cardinals beat the Marlins at home on KJEL.

Paul Goldschmidt added a pair of singles and drove in a run for the Cardinals, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Reliever Giovanny Gallegos earned his fourth win. Adam Wainright went the first six, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts.. Alex Reyes pitched a clean ninth inning for his 17th save. St. Louis has won just three of its last 14. O’Neill says he’s comfortable in situations where the game is on the line.

 

Jazz Chisholm Jr. singled in both of Miami’s runs. The Marlins tallied only five hits and struck out nine times. Reliever Dylan Floro was charged his fourth loss after surrendering the two runs in the eighth. Miami has lost back-to-back games after a three-game winning streak.
