Jesse Winker belted three home runs as the Reds held off a determined Redbird comeback…

Winker hit the game-winning long ball in ninth inning after homering in the first and second inning off starter John Gant..

It was Winker’s second three-homer game of the season. The Reds swept the four-game series and have won six of their last seven overall. Cincinnati’s Heath Hembree earned his first win. Alex Reyes suffered his second loss for St. Louis. Nolan Arenado was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, driving in a pair of runs and drawing a walk. MINNESOTA 2 ROYALS 1

Miguel Sano drove in a run and assisted in a triple play as the Twins won the final two games of the four game set at Kauffman Stadium. Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-3 with a walk for Minnesota. The Twins take back-to-back wins to split the series with Kansas City. Luke Farrell earned the win. Brady Singer suffered his fifth loss, despite giving up only a pair of runs over five-and-two-thirds innings. Manager Mike Matheny gave thumbs up to the overall outing from his young righthander…

Andrew Benintendi drove in the lone run of the game for the Royals. Kansas City has dropped two straight and will head west to face the Angels tonight in Anaheim..
