Andrew Benintendi and Jorge Soler both went deep in the eighth inning as the Royals rallied to beat the in Oakland. The duo traded shots off Jesus Luzardo to help Kansas City snap a five-game losing streak. Mike Minor earned his fifth win, pitching seven frames and allowing just one run.

Frankie Montas suffered his sixth loss after allowing three runs in six-and-one-third innings. Jed Lowrie homered in the fourth inning for the A’s only run. Oakland still sits first in the AL West. The second of a four game series is tonight at 8:40 in Oakland….

The Chiefs have wrapped up organized team activities and now prepare to start mandatory minicamp next week. Coach Andy Reid said that Kyle Long suffered a knee injury during Wednesday’s session and that the team is still evaluating the O-lineman, although they don’t believe he suffered ligament damage.

Long had been taking reps with the starters at right guard. The three-day minicamp begins on Tuesday.
