The win pushed Springfield’s win streak to a season-high four games as the Cardinals have won the first two of a six-game series against North Division rival Tulsa.

Roach improved his record to 4-5, allowing just two runs on six hits and two walks over his 6.0 full innings, striking out five. Both runs came on solo home runs by Drillers batters in the fourth and fifth innings.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is teaming with USA Football to host three youth football coaching clinics across Missouri this summer while his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation has provided grants to 15 youth football leagues. The collaboration between the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback and USA Football was announced Monday.

Webb City High School coach John Roderique, who has led the Cardinals to a state-record 12 championships, and longtime Rockwood Summit High School coach Mike Bellars will lead the clinics. Their purpose is to prepare other coaches to teach youth athletes based on their age, skill level and the type of football games they are playing.
The first of the clinics, which are free to youth football coaches, will take place July 27 in the Kansas City suburb of Olathe, Kan. The second will take place July 31 in Webb City and the third is Aug. 7 in Kansas City.

Along with the clinics, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation announced $2,000 operating grants will be distributed to 15 area youth leagues across the region. They will be awarded through an online grant application.

Mahomes will join the Chiefs’ other quarterbacks, rookies and select veterans in reporting to training camp July 23 at Missouri Western in St. Joseph. The rest of the team reports July 28, with the first full-squad workout the following day open to the public for the first time since the 2019 preseason.

In addition, the Lightning became the ninth franchise in NHL history to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. Tampa Bay’s Game 5 win also marked the 15th consecutive playoff game in which they followed up a loss with a win.
TAMPA BAY GOALIE Andrei Vasilevskiy VAZ-AH-LEF-SKI) won 2021 Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“It’s amazing. This group has been through so much together,” Lightning captain Steven Stamkos told Sportsnet after the game. “To do this in front of our fans and family, we didn’t get a chance to do that last year. That was huge motivation for this group: to win it again. To do it again, it’s validation into history
