KFBD Sports For Wednesday July 14
HE WAS COMING BACK TO HIS OLD STOMPIN’ GROUNDS AND PUTTING ON A BASKETBALL CAMP, BUT WORD CAME YESTERDAY, FOR NOW, THE JUWAN MORGAN DEVELOPMENTAL BASKETBALL CAMP HAS BEEN POSTPONED…..THERE’S A COUPLE OF REASONS FOR THE POSTPONEMENT, AND UNFORTUNATLY, ONE OF THOSE IS THE NEW STRAIN OF THE DELTA VARIANT OF THE COVID VIRUS AND THE ALARMING RATE OF RISING INFECTIONS IN MISSOURI……THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THE YOUTH THAT WERE SCHEUDLED TO ATTEND THE CAMP AT THE END OF THE MONTH…
ANOTHER REASON IS THE MANDATORY NBA SUMMER LEAGUE CAMP THE UTAH JAZZ POWER FORWARD MUST ATTEND…..
ONCE THE CAMP STAFF GETS THE “GREEN LIGHT” TO MOVE FORWARD AGAIN SAFELY, AND AN UPDATE ON THE NBA SCHEDULE, ALL THOSE WHO REGISTERED FOR THE CAMP WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE MORGAN BASKETBALL CAMP STAFF SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS AWESOME DEVELOPMENTAL EXPERIENCE. INDIVIDUAL EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES HAVE GONE OUT TO THE REGISTRANTS AS WELL.
THE JUWAN “JMO” MORGAN CAMP STAFF APOLOGIZES IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS HAS CAUSED.

The MLB All-Star Game
Tuesday night at Coors Field, the American League continued its All-Star Game dominance with its eighth consecutive win over the National League in the Midsummer Classic (AL 5, NL 2). The AL has won every All-Star Game since 2013 and holds a 46-43-2 edge all-time.
All eyes were on Angels star Shohei Ohtani, and he had a fairly quiet night. As the AL’s starting pitcher, he tossed a perfect first inning. As the AL’s starting DH, Ohtani went 0 for 2. THE TORONTO Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. slugged a 468-foot home run deep into the Coors Field bleachers for the game’s loudest moment and was named the game’s MVP.

Both the U.S. Olympic team and the WNBA All-Stars expect a competitive game in the league’s showcase tonight. Usually there is not much defense played in All-Star games until the fourth quarter, but this one could be different with the Olympians having limited time to get ready for the Tokyo Games.
The past seven WNBA All-Star games have been decided by single digits, including the one in 2019 that was a three-point contest.
It’s the first time since 2000 the WNBA has held the All-Star game during an Olympic year.
“It’s a great way for the USA team to get ready,” said five-time Olympian and 12-time All-Star Sue Bird. “Great way to prepare for us. great way to showcase the top talent. The national team is 12 of the top players and so is the WNBA side of it. Twenty-four of the top players going out there… All in all we’re trying to put on a good show.”
