IN THE JAMBOREE’S, EACH TEAM GETS 12 PLAYS FROM SCRIMMAGE ON OFFENSE, THEN PLAYS DEFENSE FOR 12 MORE AGAINST EACH OF THE TEAMS..
THE TIGERS MET UNION FIRST AND THE WILDCATS PUT UP 3 TD’S, AND RACKED UP 6 FIRST DOWNS…THE TIGERS HAD 3 FIRST DOWNS, BUT DID NOT SEE THE END ZONE…
AGAINST CAPITAL CITY, THE TIGERS HAD 1 FIRST DOWN, THE CAV’S HAD 3 AND SCORED ONE TD.
ROLLA WAS THE BIG WINNER..5 FIRST DOWNS, 5 SCORES, SEVERAL FROM 40 YARDS OUT…..

AGAIN, THIS WAS A JAMBOREE AND COACH JOE HAYNES USED 3 QUARTERBACKS, 3 RUNNING BACKS, AND HAD SOME RECEIVERS THAT LOOKED GOOD AT TIMES, WHEN THE TIGERS THREW THE BALL, WHICH WAS 20 TIMES COMPARED TO 16 RUNNING PLAYS….

THIS PAST SATURDAY’S SOFTBALL JAMBOREE AT MACKS CREEK AND CLIMAX SPRINGS THAT RICHLAND AND STOUTLAND WERE GOING TO ATTEND WITH PARKVIEW, MORRISSVILLE AND ST. ELIZABETH HAD A SCHEDULE ALTERATION EARLY ON FRIDAY, THEN AUTHORITIES CANCELLED THE JAMBOREE DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES……

SPRINGFIELD CARDINALS outfielder Nick Plummer homered twice and tripled in an 11-7 Springfield Cardinals loss to the Wichita Wind Surge on Sunday night at Hammons Field.

Plummer’s home runs–his 12th and 13th of the season–were both solo shots, with the first giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the first inning and the second pulling Springfield within 9-6 in the seventh. He added a fifth-inning RBI triple in the fifth on the way to a 3-for-4, two-run, three-RBI, one-walk night.

Andrew Benintendi drove in three runs, and the Kansas City Royals beat the sliding Chicago Cubs 9-1 on Sunday for a sweep of their weekend series. It was Chicago’s franchise-record 13th consecutive loss at Wrigley Field. Benintendi and Carlos Santana each had three hits in Kansas City’s sixth win in seven games. Hunter Dozier doubled and drove in two runs.
