Six different NFL teams hit the field on Thanksgiving for early Week 12 action. All three of the visiting squads ended up victorious. And two of the three games ended up going down to the wire.

The Chicago Bears made sure they weren’t going to be the first team to lose to the Detroit Lions in 2021. Trailing by a point for all but one second of the fourth quarter, Cairo Santos hit the game-winning 28-yard field goal as time expired to give Chicago a 16-14 victory over Detroit on Thanksgiving.
The Bears held the ball for the final 8:30, resulting in an 18-play drive that was their longest possession (by number of plays) since 2013. Andy Dalton was 4-for-5 for 46 yards on the final drive, connecting with Cole Kmet for 12 yards to put the Bears in field goal range to take the lead.
*
The Las Vegas Raiders scored their first victory in over a month, as they downed the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, 36-33 in overtime. This was the sixth overtime game all-time on Thanksgiving, and the third for the Cowboys. They are now 0-3 in Thanksgiving games that went to extra time.
The Cowboys have recorded four double-digit comebacks on Thanksgiving, with the last coincidentally coming against the Raiders in 2013. While they came close to pulling out another one on Thursday night, the Dallas defense just couldn’t come up with enough stops
*
The Buffalo Bills looked a lot like contenders once again, waxing the Saints 31-6 on the Superdome turf with Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox and their defense all showing up. Buffalo still needs more from its ground game, which could help take some pressure off Allen, but this was a big step in the right direction. The Saints are beat up, yes, but to rout them by 25 on the road on a short week? That’ll build confidence.
