CHICAGO CUBS 6 ROYALS 1

The Cubs scored twice in each of the final two innings to pull away for a 6-1 win over the Royals in Kansas City. Javier Baez went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Chicago, which has won six in-a-row to improve to 10-and-2. Yu Darvish allowed five hits and one run in seven innings for his second win. Rookie Kris Bubic [[ BOOB-itch ]] gave up two runs in six frames to fall to 0-and-2 with the loss.

 

The Royals scored their only run on Whit Merrifield’s double-play grounder in the third. KC has lost six straight to fall to 3-and-10.

NHL-

The Blues are back on the ice today taking on the Vegas Golden Knights in round robin action in Edmonton. St. Louis looks to bounce back after a 2-1 loss on a last second goal to the Avalanche on Sunday. The Blues Oskar Sundqvist remembers the  earlier meetings with the Golden Knights.

 

The defending Stanley Cup champs are looking for their first win in Edmonton following an exhibition loss to Chicago and the heartbreaker to Colorado Sunday….Faceoff is set for right after 5:30 this afternoon…

 

The Missouri State High School Activities Association has reversed an earlier ruling, and will allow districts doing all virtual learning to compete in fall sports….Also, district classifications will be released on September 18th instead of mid-August…
