The Cardinals have announced their revised schedule in the wake of having their season paused for the coronavirus. The four-game home and home series against the Tigers has been rescheduled as two doubleheaders that will take place on August 13th in Detroit and September 10th in St. Louis. The “Field of Dreams” game against the White Sox that was to be played on August 13th, will be played in Chicago on August 14th. 3-game series against the Brewers that was missed is being rescheduled as part of three doubleheaders in meetings between the two throughout September. Mark Stone scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as the Golden Knights surged past the Blues 6-4 in a Round Robin game in Edmonton. Alex Tuch and Shea Theodore each scored twice for Vegas. Zach Whitecloud also lit the lamp for the Golden Knights. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 13 of 17 shots for Vegas, which will face Colorado for the top seed in the Western Conference. Colton Parayko scored twice for the Blues in defeat and knows the transition game has to be better..

 

Jordan Binnington allowed six goals in the setback for St. Louis, which will face Dallas for the third or fourth seed to conclude round robin play on Sunday..

 

A sad note today in area basketball..Jerry Kirksey has passed away…The Buffalo native coached the Drury Panthers to the 1979 NAIA national championship, then went 146-79 at Southwest Baptist for 8 seasons, leading the Bearcats to an MIAA championship and two NCAA tournament berths including the Elite 8 in 1991. Coach Kirksey played high school basketball at Halfway and Buffalo, and coached at Weaubleau, Stockton and  Houston. He was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coach’s Association Hall of Fame two years ago and the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1999…
