An app developer from Laclede County could return from Farm Bureau’s annual meeting this weekend in Austin with an additional 20-thousand dollars. Kevin Johansen is lead developer of Ag Butler, an app that aims to connect farmers and potential workers. The project, while still in development, is already a semi-finalist for Farm Bureau’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Johansen explains what awaits him and his team in Austin this weekend.

Johansen notes that the Ag Innovation Challenge has helped develop Ag Butler, setting a goal of this fall for rolling it out.

Kevin Johansen and Ag Butler will make their 20-minute pitch to judges Friday during the first day of Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Austin. The Entrepreneur of the Year Award and People’s Choice Award will be announced Monday at the close of the meeting.
