Keep Your Phone Down When Driving
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has tips to help you stay off your phone while driving. Local law enforcement officers will work together to enforce texting and distracted driving laws. NHTSA is calling this their U Drive U Text U Pay campaign, and it is lasting from April 3rd to April 10th. Texting and driving is one of the leading death in the world, and this campaign is aiming to decrease the number of deaths. In 2021 there were over three thousand people killed and three hundred people were injured in distracted driving instances. Regional Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Susan Decourcey says the majority of the problem is with younger adults.
