Kansas City Kansas Woman Dies Following Incident At Ha Ha Tonka

A 19-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas lost her life after she was rescued from the water at Ha Ha Tonka Spring at Lake of the Ozarks, Saturday afternoon.

Yolanda Munoz-Garcia was swimming near the spring, when she encountered difficulties in the water and did not resurface on her own. She was pulled from the water by bystanders and following resuscitation efforts, taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach where she was pronounced brain dead at 6:05 Monday evening. Witnesses on the scene say it took nearly 40 minutes for first responders to arrive on the scene.
