Kansas City Area Couple Face Drug Charges In Miller County

A comprehensive drug investigation spanning several months at Lake of the Ozarks has culminated in the apprehension of a man and a woman from the Kansas City area.

A search warrant was executed for two campers and two vehicles located in the Camp Bagnell area just outside of Eldon in Miller County.

Authorities successfully confiscated approximately 146 grams of cocaine, roughly 60 grams of methamphetamine, and about 3.8 pounds of marijuana, in addition to the discovery of psilocybin mushrooms, four pistols, and an unregistered firearms suppressor. Further findings included explosive devices, drug scales, and a substantial amount of cash.

44-year-old Jonathan Henik, and 43-year-old Cherie Henik, both of Independence, Missouri, were taken into custody and now face multiple drug-related charges.

Jonathan Henik is presently incarcerated on felony charges of drug possession, trafficking, and delivery, in addition to unlawful possession of a firearm. Meanwhile, Cherie Henik faces felony charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond for Jonathan Henik set at $45,000, for Cherie Henik bond was set at $25,000. No further court dates have been set.
