K-9 Units coming to Wright County

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is taking a proactive approach to preventing drug crimes. Wright County Sheriff Sonny Byerley said he is working to put K-9 Units on the force. The K-9 Units will work 12 hour shifts..

 

Sheriff Byerley said by finding the drug users they hope to be able to extend the investigation and disrupt the supply chain. He said one K-9 unit will be ready for service this month, and they are hoping that members of the public will help with funding to get a second unit operational. He said that it costs roughly $15-thousand-dollars for a K-9 unit.
