Junior Sheriff’s academy in Camden County
The Camden County Sheriff’s Office is making plans for the first annual Junior Sheriff’s Academy. Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade are invited to submit an application and a short essay detailing why they want to attend. Captain Chris Twitchel said the academy will feature programs which will allow the students to learn about law enforcement
Up to 30 students will be accepted into the Camden County Sheriff’s Academy, with a mixture of half and full day activities. The program is being coordinated by the SRO officers with the Sheriff’s Office. The deadline for students to apply is June 1st. The Junior Sheriff’s Academy will be July 27th through July 31st. Applications are available by contacting Lieutenant Chad Bailey at the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
