June 2023 investigation leads to felony drug charges
An investigation in June 2023 has now led to felony charges against a Lake Ozark man. The investigation began when Camden County Deputies were assisting Miller County in locating another person who was wanted for a probation and parole violation. The individual was being tracked through his ankle monitor and was in a vehicle that was traveling on Highway 54. When the vehicle was pulled over the driver was identified as Ernest Whitesides. During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement located a set of scales which allegedly contained methamphetamine residue. Also seized was multiple packs of Suboxone which is a schedule 3 controlled substance. The items were sent to the Highway Patrol lab for testing. This week Ernest Whitesides was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and he has been issued a summons to court in Camden County.
