July 8th is the last day to register to vote in the August 4th primary

The Laclede County Clerk’s Office has announced the last day to register to vote in the August 4th Primary is under a week away, on July 8th. Anyone who is 18 and over, and hasn’t registered to vote in the county where they currently live, is required to register in order to cast a ballot. In addition, Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler tells us that anyone who cannot go to the polls on August 4th can now request an absentee ballot….
During the August 4 election process voters will be requesting a ballot for a specific party or a non-partisan ballot, which will only have the statewide question on medicaid expansion. As for local questions on the ballot, there is only one in Laclede County, and that’s for Conway Special Road District #2 which is seeking to continue the 35 cent property tax levy per one hundred dollars assessed valuation, for a period not to exceed four years. Absentee ballots can be requested for mailing until July 22nd.
