July 4th activities on Fort Wood

Fort Leonard Wood will once again be celebrating the nation’s birthday in style. The celebration begins even before Independence Day rolls around, with the Red White, and Blue Piney Valley Golf Tournament happening on July 1st at 8 AM. Registration is currently open and can be done on the day of the tournament. The pool will be half-price admission from 12 PM to 7 PM starting July 1st until the 3rd. On the 4th of July, the day begins with a free fun run at Davidson Fitness Center at 9 AM. A car show will begin at 4 PM, and the pool will again be half-price from 12 to 5. Finally, the fireworks show will begin at 9:30 PM. Fort Leonard Wood representative Kirsten Carpenter says the public is invited to take part in both the earlier events and the fireworks show.

Other than the fireworks show itself, the discharging of fireworks anywhere on Fort Leonard Wood is illegal.
