Johnson Facing Additional Charges

A 55-year old Laclede County man is facing additional charges following his arrest earlier this month for abandonment of a corpse. Thomas Dean Johnson has now also been charged with several counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and with possession and delivery of a controlled substance. Authorities say Johnson left his son’s body to decompose in a sewage lagoon after his son shot himself. Johnson said he did not report the shooting because he was “embarrassed” by what his son had done. Johnson is free on bond and is scheduled to appear in Laclede County Associate Circuit Court on Monday.
