Interest in getting the COVID vaccine is on the rise in Laclede County. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says two factors are driving that increase, surging DELTA variant cases and the new vaccine incentive program…………

Baker says Laclede County School Districts are waiting on guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and from the health department, about how to proceed for the upcoming school year. The rapid surge in cases over the summer could lead some districts to have to make difficult decisions…………

Laclede County averaged two new cases each day in the month of May. In June, that number increased to ten new cases each day. In July, that number has doubled to an average of 20 new cases each day. 11 COVID deaths have been reported in Laclede County in July.
