Incident at Lowe’s Home Improvement in March leads to warrant
An incident in March has led to felony charges against a Laclede County man. Lebanon Police reported that on March 19th officers were patrolling in the parking lot of Lowe’s when they observed a vehicle that is owned by 37-year-old James Lawson, who had a warrant for his arrest. The officers went inside the store to find Lawson and when he saw them he took off running through the store knocking items over to try to impede the officers. As they caught up with him, a drill fell from his person. He also reportedly pulled a box cutter from his pocket and held it to his throat, and then stuck two small baggies in his mouth and began chewing on them. An officer tasered Lawson and he fell and eventually dropped the box cutter. Medical personnel were called to the scene to check Lawson out for the drugs he ingested. Lawson was searched and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and a loaded syringe. He was also in possession of several items that he was allegedly trying to steal from the store. Lawson has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a weapon, and is being held without bond.
