Identity theft increases during the holiday

During the holiday season, criminals take advantage of large numbers of people shopping online to steal identities and money, as well as sensitive tax and financial data that can be used to file fraudulent tax returns when the filing season opens in early 2020. Be alert to bogus emails that appear to come from your tax professional, requesting information for an IRS form. The IRS doesn’t require Life Insurance and Annuity updates from taxpayers or a tax professional.
