Miller County authorities and the State Fire Marshalls office continue to investigate a fire Thursday that killed two people. The fire was reported just before 6 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 200 block of Lombar Street in Iberia. One resident of the home escaped with several burns and told authorities other residents were inside.

Miller County 911 began receiving phone calls about an explosion and a house that was fully involved with fire just before 6 p.m. After the fire was under control, firefighters found the body of Patricia Hendee, who had passed away in the home. Another resident of the residence, Arthur Sinden was airlifted for treatment and later died. It was reported that 11 agencies assisted the Iberia Rural Fire Protection District in combating the blaze and rendering aid.
