I-70 Expansion Gets Another Look
The Missouri House Budget Committee has restored Governor Mike Parson’s request to expand interstate-70 to six lanes in the St. Louis, Columbia, and Kansas City areas. Committee Chairman Cody Smith, a Republican from Carthage, added the governor’s 859-million-dollar ask back into a budget bill about large construction projects.
That bridge involves Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Lincoln Hough (huff), of Springfield, who wants to expand I-70 to six lanes statewide. The price tag to expand the roadway statewide is about three-billion-dollars.
