I-44 Traffic Has Re-opened to East Bound Travellers

Traffic is moving again slowly on I-44 on the true righthand eastbound lane in the construction zone between Rolla and St. James.  This one lane of eastbound traffic began to move after 2:45 after two tractor trailer rigs had shut down the eastbound flow of traffic about an hour and 15 minutes earlier.  At one point, eastbound motorists were stalled by the shutdown of I-44 back past the 184-mile marker in Rolla.

The left lane of eastbound I-44 remains closed since about midday on Sunday.  So, there is only one eastbound lane between Rolla and St. James, which will slow down traffic and produce more traffic backups throughout the afternoon and early evening.
