Today, October 10th, is recognized worldwide as Homelessness Awareness day. Though the day is an international reminder of the issue, it still occurs throughout the Ozarks. Community Cares Director Melinda Fries says the issue is serious, but not always visible.
Fries also adds that several nonprofit organizations are tackling the problem head-on
Fries mentioned the Lebanon Free Store, Laclede Literacy Council, Lane Change, L-Life food pantry, and many more. Any of these groups would love volunteers or financial support and would be happy to offer their resources to anyone who needs them
