Homecoming this coming Friday will be a busy day for most Waynesville residents

Homecoming this coming Friday will be a busy day for most Waynesville residents, but those wanting to take part in the day’s events should take note of what is happening and when. Schools will let out early, with students in K-5 being dismissed at 1 PM and students in grades 6-12 being dismissed at noon. At 2:30 PM, the Homecoming Parade will start. The route begins on Benton Street on the square and follows all the way through to Waynesville Middle School. Marianne Ward, the Waynesville R-VI Director of Communications and Marketing, says the parade always brings out a big crowd.

Following the parade, the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Community Pride Night, featuring a free hot dog roast and celebration. There will be giveaways from area businesses in front of the Waynesville High School gym. Later that night, the Waynesville Tiger football team will host Hillcrest at 7 PM. The homecoming queen will be crowned 30 minutes prior to the game.
