If the turkey that you plan to eat for Thanksgiving dinner is still in your freezer, you run the risk of having an undercooked bird. That could lead to someone at your gathering contracting a food-borne illness. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says your turkey should already be in the thawing process.

Baker also reminds residents they need to put away leftovers in a timely fashion, reheat products to at least 140 degrees, and make sure your food contact surfaces are clean and sanitized.
