Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will be out in full force from Friday evening at 6 o’clock until 11:59 pm Monday night

Traffic volumes will pick up on the interstates, highways, and roads tomorrow afternoon and evening as the Memorial Weekend driving rush gets underway.
Missouri Highway Patrol Troop I Information and Education Officer, Sergeant Mike Mitchell, says the patrol and other law enforcement agencies will be out in full force from Friday evening at 6 o’clock until 11:59 pm Monday night. He says the effort is to enforce Missouri’s driving laws and to offer assistance to motorists who need assistance. The hope is to lower the state’s accident and fatality count during this period of time.

He urges motorists to be courteous on the highway, stay within the speed limit, engage safety devices, don’t drink alcoholic beverages and drive, and don’t text or talk on cellphones while driving.
