High Speed pursuit leads to arrest in Dallas Co
A man from Pittsburg was arrested in Dallas County following a high-speed pursuit on Thursday. According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, a Deputy was patrolling in the area of Broadway Street in Urbana, when he noticed a car traveling at a high rate of speed, and when he attempted a traffic stop the vehicle took off at speeds over 100 Miles per hour on Highway 65. The driver circled back into Urbana and stopped on Broadway. A K9 unit was brought in and the dog alerted on the driver’s side door. Officers then searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine and various prescription medications. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Alexander Trotter was placed under arrest. He is currently being held without bond on a charge of resisting arrest by fleeing, with additional charges pending. Trotter is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
