On Monday the Lebanon R-3 School District sent out notice that a Lebanon High School student has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A. Through investigation by the Laclede County Health Department this has been classified as a low risk of exposure case. Hepatitis A is usually transmitted person-to-person through the fecal-oral route or by consumption of contaminated food or water. The best way to prevent the spread of Hepatitis is by getting a vaccine. Everyone is also encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water, and avoid touching your face.
