English is known as a tough language to learn, no matter how many languages someone speaks.
Through a federal grant of almost 3 million dollars -Missouri State University Professor Andrea Hellman in Springfield is working to improve how we teach English to immigrants, refugees, and new Americans.
It has to do with hospitality:

Hellman says immigrants want to be a part of the community- and often come from a traumatic situation.

She says the project trains teachers to be highly skilled in teaching English as an additional language.

Hellman says teachers are already overwhelmed, so help like this is welcomed.
