Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories in effect

Hazards:

Heat index values of 100 to 110 degrees will occur across southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks. An
Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for southeast Kansas and southwestern Missouri. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the rest
of the Missouri Ozarks.
Areas Impacted: Southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks.
Timing & Duration: Heat headlines continue into Saturday. Areas across central Missouri could see temperatures
affected by thunderstorms on Saturday.
Impacts: These hot and humid conditions may cause heat illness to occur. The prolong period of hot conditions will also
have accumulating affect.
Drink plenty of fluids and stay in air-conditioned room. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heatstroke.
