Healthy eating for weight loss and diabetes

As we near swimsuit season the temptation to take on a fad diet to lose weight, but weight loss can be a challenge if you aren’t eating the right foods. According to Mercy Clinical Dietitian Susan Wright there are some types of foods that will increase your blood sugar
Wright says certain starches are chains of sugar….
Wright said it’s better to stick with foods that contain resistant starches, like rye bread, pumpernickel, green bananas, beans, and oats. Mercy Lebanon will be hosting a Nutrition for Diabetics class on April 25th from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the conference room. Additional classes will be held on May 23rd and on June 27th, there is no cost for the classes.
