Hackberry Road traffic stop and drug arrest

A traffic stop on Hackberry Road in Laclede County on February 3rd, resulted in an investigation and drug charges. According to the report filed with the courts, a Highway Patrolman pulled over a truck that had no license plate on the front. The driver, Brandon Sorrell, was issued a traffic citation. Two of the occupants of the vehicle had outstanding warrants from outside of Laclede County. A K-9 Unit was called to the scene. Passenger Brad Allen Guthrie was found to be in possession of a plastic baggy containing a small amount of methamphetamine and was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle revealed a ‘Suboxone’ strip in the glove box. A search of the passenger side door frame revealed a blue earphone pouch with baggy containing a crystal-like substance. A small red box that contained a glass pipe with white residue was in the door as well. A soft black pouch was found under the seat and contained digital scales with white residue, a Suboxone strip package, miscellaneous baggies and five glass cylinders with crystal-like residue. A female passenger identified as Jaylon Shilo Jones was also arrested and when she was being processed at the jail, was found in possession of several pills identified as controlled substance. Jones is charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, and Guthrie was charged with one count of felony possession of a controlled substance.
