Grant to fight crimes against children awarded Wright County

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has announced that 19 Missouri law enforcement agencies have received grant funds to assist agencies in the investigation and prosecution of people who commit crimes against children, including sex crimes. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office was one agency to receive funds, and Sheriff Sonny Byerley said this will help the agency with investigations by helping them secure a full-time major crimes investigator.

He said the funds will also allow them to get the technical equipment and training needed to investigate crimes against children

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office will receive over $76-thousand-dollars. The grant was also awarded to the Houston Police Department for $11,204.00 and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for $50,176.
