Governor Parson in Lebanon to honor JAG students
Last (Tuesday) Night students and staff in the Jobs for America’s Graduates or JAG program at Hillcrest Alternative School were treated to a night in their honor. Lebanon’s JAG program received multiple awards for performance at both the school and individual levels, as well as an award for “Overall Success”. The school’s JAG specialist, Brandon Johnson, took the stage first to remind us all what JAG is all about
Soon after, the students heard a special message from Missouri Governor Mike Parson and first lady Teresa Parson who reminded them that the future is bright
The Keynote Speaker was then introduced as Katie O’Quinn, just one year removed from the director of the Alternative school, who challenged the students to make goals and strive to reach them
The ceremony ended with the induction of the new offices to be taken up by JAG students from President, to Community Service Vice President. Then reciting JAG’s pledge to go about life the best way possible
This year, the JAG program will serve 76,000 students throughout the country, in addition to the 1.5 million they’ve served since their founding in 1979
