A special session of the Missouri Legislature is scheduled to begin next week. Governor Mike Parson has called lawmakers back to Jefferson City to cut the income tax rate from 5.3-percent to 4.8-percent. Some lawmakers want the special session to include other tax-related measures, like fixing an anticipated vehicle tax increase, eliminating sales tax on some grocery foods and beating a November ballot measure about recreational marijuana. Governor Parson says he’s frustrated that some lawmakers want to add other pieces to his plan…

Parson says he hopes lawmakers will stick with his call but he says he will just have to see.
