A new Polk County Clerk has been appointed by Governor Mike Parson. The position of County Clerk became vacant after Melinda Robertson was sworn in to serve as the Southern Commissioner of Polk County, following the November election. Today(fri) Governor Mike Parson announced that Bobbie Lear of Bolivar has been appointed to serve as Polk County Clerk. According to the Governor’s office, Ms. Lear has past experience working as an underwriter for Polk County Mutual Insurance Company and as a district manager for Western Shamrock Corporation. More recently, she has held managerial positions with Wal-Mart and Woods Supermarket. Ms. Lear holds an associate degree in business management with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Phoenix. Lear will serve as Polk County Clerk through the unexpired term ends.
