The Missouri Department of Transportation is expected to let bids in December for a project that will close Highway 64, near Lebanon, in 2024. MODOT Area Engineer Danny Roeger said that MODOT could award the project in January.
According to Roeger prior to shutting down the highway, after July 4th, they will be putting up wayfinding signs and State Route detours…
The state route detours will be especially important for large truck traffic to prevent damage to local roads that aren’t designed for heavy loads. The project cost is estimated to be around $2.3-million-dollars. The actual construction of the new Goodwin Hollow Bridge on Highway 64 isn’t expected to begin until mid summer 2024.
