Goodwin Hollow Bridge Project contract awarded
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded the contract for the Goodwin Hollow Bridge Construction project contract to Don Schnieders Excavating Company whose bid came in at $1,945,095.25. The existing Route 64 bridge over Goodwin Hollow Creek was built in 1931 is currently narrower than the existing road, and the deck and barriers are showing signs that it is nearing the end of its life cycle. MODOT Area Engineer Danny Roegar said the project work will begin in an area that won’t impact traffic….
At this time, construction is anticipated to begin in late summer 2024 and be complete by December 1st, 2024. Route 64 between Laclede County Route AA and Rolling Hills Road will be closed during the construction of the new bridge and a signed detour will be in place. When the detour is activated, state highway traffic will be traveling on West Highway 32 to OO Highway to get to Bennett Spring. Local traffic will be able to detour on to Rolling Hills Road/ Gateway to AA Highway.
